TODAY I PAT AN
OLD DEAD CAT
Lying on the ground so still
Oblivious to the morning chill
It's body kissing the hard brown earth
A decade now from whence its birth
From where it cleaned the dirt and germs
Appropiate lodging for the maggots and worms
I quietly looked down as I solemly sat
For Today I pat an old dead cat
As I observed the horrific stare
From its eyes, now naked and bare
I pondered on the life that was
Who besides me would give a toss
I spyed the grey through the black fur
It must have been old, I could only concur
How sad for life to end like that
For Today I pat an old dead cat
The cars raced by both thick and fast
They can go and kiss my arse
The crime they did, no one will care
I read from the corpses morbid stare
Animals are nothing, only second rate
The mighty human will strongly debate
Tis a shame, which is a fact
For Today I pat an old dead cat
Was life good or was it grim
Would an animal know a mortal sin
Do they have morals and rules
For when they pay their final dues
Is there a heaven or even a hell
Hard to say, judging by the smell
With the dead, its hard to chat
For Today I pat an old dead cat
Will your sibs mourn your death
Like the heroes from Macbeth
Who will sing your songs of praise
As you rot with the passing days
Is the same fate yet to be
When the Reaper comes for me
When he comes, will he remember that
I took time out for an old dead cat
Life is gone for this quiet beast
Now a fit vermin feast
Its pain and suffering is no more
Which indeed is natures greatest law
Yes, twill be the same when comes my time
When nothing left but bone and grime
But Years from now I shall remember that
Today I Pat An Old Dead Cat
I AM THE REAPER
Darkness is my life, the cemetary my home
All your fears, worries and hopes have no place with me
I am the End, from me there is no escape
What God did you believe in through out your life?
Have your deeds done you justice?
Did I give you a chance to meet your goals?
Do you think I really care?
You make your medicines and drugs for your own uses
Some slow me down, others hasten my presence to you
Make no mistake, I have the patience of eternity
Always waiting, watching, with my hand inches away from your
heart
Give me the opportunity and I will gladly take it
As I watch you in your final hour, expressionless and patient
Be assured that you shall follow me humble and meek
I hold the book with the final drop of ink
What will your last words be?
Better hurry, they may come sooner than you think
There is no warranty attatched to life
Has Your Gold and Silver served you well?
You have avoided me and rued the day when we shall meet
Never the less here we are, welcome to eternal slumber
Look around you now, there are no loop holes, no second chances
That was your life, which is now no more
Did you think you were so unlike any other beast?
Proud you stand with your own
Never considering that your very own molicules were your own
ememy
Now where is your pride? There are no ranks among the dead
Hold my hand and take the final walk into darkness
You fear me, yet find me compelling
Each second that passes brings you closer to my abode
All are welcome with me, I have no biggotories or exclusions
The club is rocking and the gates are open
Welcome to hotel death, once you check in there is no signing out
Glad to make your aquaitance
I am The Reaper
